Early Life:

He was Born on September 3, 1957, in Mysore, Karnataka, India, Jaggi Vasudev was a curious and rebellious child with an innate fascination for nature and life’s mysteries. Though his father was a physician and his upbringing was rooted in science, young Jaggi often wandered into forests, climbed trees, and questioned the meaning of existence

At age 25, a life-altering experience atop Chamundi Hill in Mysore transformed him. Sitting on a rock, he felt a profound dissolution of his physical body and an overwhelming sense of oneness with existence. This moment of self-realization marked the birth of “Sadhguru” which means "uneducated guru", setting him on a path to share yogic sciences with the world.

The Isha Foundation:

In 1992, Sadhguru founded the "Isha Foundation", a nonprofit organization dedicated to human well-being through yoga, education, and environmental stewardship. Headquartered in Coimbatore, India, the foundation has impacted millions globally with initiatives such as:

1. "Project GreenHands" : A massive tree-planting drive to combat soil erosion and climate change.

2. "Rally for Rivers" : A campaign to revive India’s depleting rivers, supported by 162 million people.

3. "Cauvery Calling" : An ongoing movement to restore the Cauvery River through farmer-driven agroforestry.

4. "Isha Yoga Programs" : Over 300 centers worldwide offering tools for physical, mental, and spiritual growth.

The crown jewel of Isha is the **Dhyanalinga**, a powerful meditative space consecrated by Sadhguru in 1999, which attracts seekers from all faiths.

Personal Life:

Sadhguru’s personal journey includes both joy and tragedy. He married Vijaya Kumari (Vijji) in 1984, who played a pivotal role in Isha’s early days.
