Over the past few days the banning news of TikTok is surfacing in USA.
The supreme court previously ruled on jan 17 that force to stop the use of tiktok in USA if it didn’t change from Chinese Ownership following the sell or ban legislation being passed by Congress and signed by Joe Biden last year.
Basically, The owners of Tiktok would have to either sell or totally shutdown the App considering the National Security. TikTok had already denied the information on the app would be shared with the Chinese government, calling it “outright censorship of the American people.”
There are over 170 millions user of TikTok in USA. They were completely shutdown on Sunday for 14 hours.
President elected Donald Trump came in rescue of the App and wrote this” I would like the United States to have 50% ownership position in a joint venture. By doing this, we save TikTok, keep it in good hands allow it to stay up. Without U.S approval , there is no TikTok . With our approval , it is worth hundreds of billions of dollars”
TikTok responded like this”In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive," the company said in a statement. "It's a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.
