The Horrific incident has taken place in NYC Subway. A woman was set on fire on subway train. The suspect , 33 years old Sabastian Zapeta is being charged with murder and arson for starting the fire that killed a women who was sleeping on the train.
Officials believes that the victim was homeless and was sleeping in the train.The suspect was illegal immigrants from Guatemala. He was deported back in 2018 but managed to enter again.
Nearby Officers saw and smelled the smoke.They tried to put out the fire by using fire extinguisher but it was too late the victim couldn’t make it.
As per the report there was no any interaction between the victim and the suspect.
Later in the same day , A person of interest was taken in to the custody which was informed by high school students. These students saw this person of interest in different subway and called a police. They eventually stoppped the train and arrested the man. The suspect was wearing the same clothes like he wore while setting fire and also police found lighter in his pocket.
It was easier for police to make sure the suspect is guilty as his photo was very clearer to recognise.
The motive behind the incident is still unknown .
